For this project, we worked with motion graphics. I have never worked with this technique before, it seemed really intimidating in the beginning but then started to make sense.
With this piece, I wanted to keep it creative and fun. I tried to find some fun video clips for the background keeping it kind of psychedelic but not over done. I got the inspiration with the repeating text and rings. It made me think of a kids kaleidoscope, so I tried not to overthink this edit as I have in previous ones. The stop-motion edit was so technical that this was fun to play with as a follow up.
I added a fun mystical sound when the sparkle swirl comes in, and some cheering at the end after the singing stops. All the video clips were chosen just because they were colourful and fun, so they fit with the colour palette, sounds and vibe of the piece. Fun to make. It would be interesting to play with this technique a bit more. Maybe even revisiting the zoo piece I created last term, motion graphics might’ve been a fun addition to that work.
Enjoy!
