SEARCH: DuckDuckGo

DuckDuckGo is a search engine similar to google, but without the tracking. DuckDuckGo has gained some traction in the last few years as people are becoming more and more aware of their online footprint. While other browsers allow your information to be stored and reused (ever notice that after you search for a product all of a sudden ads for that product start popping up everywhere) this browser doesn’t store and save that information for later use.

This company makes money through private targeted ads based on what you’re searching, while you search. However, they don’t save that information, so you only get the ads while your search and not when you’re on other pages. They also have some affiliate link income with some larger corps such as Amazon. When you use the DuckDuckGo link to get to Amazon they get a small commission of the purchase price because of their link.
