Compare + Contrast Photography using Mobile Devices + DSLR/Mirrorless Cameras
Sunday March 26 –
I keep forgetting to have my phone with me when I’m taking shots of my kids for this project. Photography is one of those times that I get to put my phone and other technology down to really focus on what I’m doing and being in the space where my feet are. For this project I need to get better at this and am hoping to get some good practice with this now that my kids are on Spring Break and we will all be home together for a bit.
Update Monday Apr 3 –
I finally managed and remembered to get my phone out along side my camera to get some side by side shots. I didn’t have the time while chasing the kids around to really work with the settings on the phone. I have found that portrait mode on my phone works amazingly. When I purchased this iphone it was with the camera at almost the forefront of the decision. Because in the summer I work at a dropzone, I like to be able to get clear night shots and sunset shots.
I didn’t edit any of these photos they are all just the raw images taken by my phone as well as my DSLR. I think if I had’ve had the time to really work with the settings on my phone along side the camera the differences would be very minimal. Probably some clarity when you get to larger size media files, but side by side for smaller images its incredibly hard to tell which is which if you have them both set around the same.
Sidenote – My kids were able to go to a fam camp for the first week of spring break and they had the cutest, tiniest baby bunnies. Those are what were pictured here.
